Caramelized Onions

Ingredients:

  • Fuckton of onions (I used about 8 medium sized ones), white/yellow/sweet work best
  • 1/4 Cup Butter
  • Generous Drizzle of Olive Oil
  • Directions
    1. Slice butter and put on the bottom of crock pot.
    2. Cut up onions, I just quartered mine and cut them more after cooking.
    3. Cook in crock pot over low for 15+ hours, stirring every few hours.
    4. I used scissors to chop up the onions into smaller pieces before using tongs to put them in an ice cube tray to freeze for later (and used some immediately!). I bottled the liquid left over in the crock pot to use as a caramelized onion sauce in future recipes!
